Best of Canada award winner

Project:
Canadian Airlines: Vancouver Executive Suite

Client's need:
Transform outdated executive area into a facility suitable for top level meetings of senior executives and worldwide alliance airline partners.

Design challenge:
Re-configure the space to accommodate sophisticated technology and meetings for up to 30 people.

DH Designs' solution:
Create an environment that reflects the advancement of the airline into the next century through:

  • careful selection of colours and fabrics to create a calm environment, effectively enhanced by lighting;
  • installation of a millwork elevation in the boardroom, to accommodate multi-functional audio visual equipment that can be hidden when not in use;
  • built-in wiring in the boardroom to facilitate teleconferencing and presentations at the large table, as well as an easy-to-read oversized map of the world; and
  • use of a curved wall to divide reception from support areas, featuring a textured art glass with an allusion to the British Columbia coastline by local artist Markian Olynyk.
